| Shortdescription | Lectures with hundreds of PowerPoint-Slides, seminars in which the lecturer is talking most of the time or practicals after which students have no idea what the experiments they were performing actually tried to prove. We all know or have heard of these or similar situations: However, teaching at university is usually well intended but does not always reach the aspired outcome - the learning of the students. This course covers the theoretical and methodological basics of professional university teaching: the shift from teaching to creating settings in which learning can become productive. In this workshop participants have the opportunity to work on teaching-learning interactions and how these settings can be effectively influenced and guided by interactively practicing and reflecting their teaching skills. The objectives of this workshop therefore are to reach a level of learner centred teaching, which leads to a deep-level learning approach on the side of the students. Hence, the interaction with and motivation of students in teaching-learning interactions will be focused on. |
