As a common institution of the University of Göttingen (foundation under public-law) we act as a contractor and service provider for the Presidential Board. The University as well as the Faculty of Medicine and the University Medical Center Göttingen are covered with comprehensive work on a broad range of auditing topics from an integrated and internal perspective. Our services comprise classic “internal auditing” projects as well as solution-focused advisory services and follow-up implementation-consultancy. The second topic mentioned above illustrates, that we act not just as an auditing unit but as an internal management consultancy. Due to this it is essential, that our doing is not limited and only devoted to regularity but is strongly founded in the principles of neutrality, objectiveness and compliance.
The auditing work of Staff Position Internal Auditing is constitutionally founded by a public service regulation which rules our work for the University of Göttingen (foundation under public-law) as a whole. In this context we are responsible for running process checks and the handling of enquiries from the Court of Auditors of Lower Saxony (LRH) as well as the Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony (MWK). In this field we act as a service coordinating and/or service-providing unit. Last but not least we are in charge of ‘anti-corruption & corruption prevention’, which is delegated centrally to the head of Staff Position Internal Auditing.
On behalf of the university (not including the Faculty of Medicine and the University Medical Center Göttingen), we provide comprehensive services in the field of Organisational Management (OM), especially in the following areas:
OD & PMO cover a wide range of tasks in the field of the integration and the development of organisational structuring and working such as the development and implementation of organisational structures and workflow management.
In addition, central projects are coordinated for interdisciplinary and/or highly complex projects. The unit also provides methodology and services of central project controlling and for the management and the regular monitoring of single and multiple project measures of the complex large-scale institution University of Göttingen. We dedicate special attention to the organisational implications and the use of information technology (IT), this because of the overall proliferation of IT-Systems making them indispensible for the work of modern institutions.
